My grandaughter!
She was born Wed. November 12 at 8:45 in the morning. She weighed 6lbs. 1oz. and I still have no idea what her length was. We asked the nurse and she kept forgetting to bring that info. back. Mom and baby are doing well. My daughter had Pregnancy Induced Hypertension, also know as Preeclampsia, and when I was pregnant, they called it Toximia. She had a choice to make, she could be bedridden (in the hospital) until the baby was born, which could have caused more harm to both baby and Mom, or have a C-section. She chose the C-Section.
I am so proud of her. My daughter has been known to be a bit of a wimp when it comes to doctors, needles, and all that good stuff. She did an excellent job! It’s like she’s become another person; and I guess she has – she’s a MOM! I went to work today
but talked to her on the phone and she was getting ready to go for her first walk since the surgery. My mom came up and is with her during the day. Her husband has classes and took yesterday off of course but did go to school today. I’m not sure he wanted to, but he had an ethics interview with one of his professors that he couldn’t miss. He did take off some time from work and doesn’t have to go back until Wed. I’ll take some time off either at the beginning of next week when she goes home or at the end of the week when her husband goes back to work.
My husband is so excited. We received “I’m a new grandmother” & “I’m a new grandfather” pins and Les wore his all day! I figured he would wear it for a while and then take it off when he returned from running some errands, but no, he wore it all day! My son-in-law commented on that as he was walking me to the car last night. He’s proud to be ”Grandpa”.
So happy parents, happy grandparents, and happy baby!
